The most important thing when applying wax to your snowboard is to put on it as evenly as possible. You should give the wax some time to cool after you have applied it. As the wax cools off it will sink into the scratches and cracks of your board. With another scraper gently remove any excess wax from the surface of your snowboard but make sure not to put on any pressure. Basically what you want is a smooth layer of wax without any lumps or bumps of wax. For a final step, take an abrasive pad and polish the surface to further smooth out the layer of wax.

To get the most out of your board you’ll want to wax it as often as possible; At the very lest you should wax it after every other snowboarding trip. As you become more experienced you’ll be able to look at your snowboard and determine when your snowboard is ready for a new layer of wax. A fresh layer of wax should be applied to a board that has been in storage for a few months.
