Snowboarding is known as an extreme sport for a reason so be prepared for some bumps and bruises and to wake up sore the next morning. snowboarding can be a bit tough on you physically so be prepared. But as long as you know what you are doing, then your injuries will be limited to small scratches and bumps. Read the snowboarding tips listed below if you are just starting to do this winter sport.

You’ll be boarding in extremely cold weather so it’s a good idea to dress very warm and preferably with clothing made specifically for snowboarding. Make sure that you wear waterproof jacket and wool socks to keep your whole body warm. And don’t forget about other bodyparts like your ears and hands because they get extremely cold as well.

Something you’ll want to spend some time on is choosing the right board. There are different styles of snowboards but novices should focus on the freestyle snowboards because they are the most versatile.Freestyle snowboards are ideal for both novices and intermediate snowboarders so you’ll be able to use for quite some time until you decide to take your snowboarding up a notch.  And if you are an average snowboarder, the free ride board is the perfect option.

Before you start boarding you’ll want to snap your boots onto your board and bindings and find a small patch of snow so you can start to get comfortable with your snowboard. It is important that you feel comfortable with your snowboard before you do the actual snowboarding.

During your initial try, just relax your whole body. Do not be too tensed or uptight or you will not be able to do it smoothly. To maintain control of your board lean forward with the slope and lean in either direction with your lead foot to turn your board.
